Trans Swiss Trail (route no. 2)

"As I descend to the south and pass through the Neuchâtel region, I can gently take my leave of the undulations of the Jura and gradually acclimatise to the lakeside ambiance of the Three Lakes Region. Majestic pines, breathtaking views of the Alps, amazing checkerboards of crop fields, castles and historic towns mark my path."

Good to know

  • On the way out of Saignelégier towards St-Imier, it is well worth stopping off at Le Roselet, a "retirement" home for horses, donkeys and ponies.
  • It is also well worth visiting Mt-Soleil, the largest renewable energy centre in Switzerland.
