Bijoux M.L. Création, Les Bois
"Our partners were taking part in a business meeting in the Franches-Montagnes and we had the chance to travel with them. We were looking forward to spending some time exploring the region. On the first afternoon, we decided to try jewellery crafting in Les Bois. Six of us - five ladies and our friend, Jean-Claude - visited Micheline Lecerf at her studio, which can accommodate about a dozen people. After admiring her "home-made" creations, we chose some prepared white jewellery shapes. All we had to do was paint them, which took a lot of patience, care and concentration - but we had a lot of fun. The second stage involved firing them in a very hot oven in the garden. The technique is called RAKU. While they were baking, we enjoyed a little drink. After that, we went away and left our "masterpieces" to cool. Micheline brought them to our hotel the next day. We were very proud to wear them that evening, as was Jean-Claude's wife."
Demonstrations by appointment for groups of adults, followed by a visit to the studio and the exhibition room, including a drink.
Duration: 1h to 1h30
Price: depending on the number of participants

Good to know
- Option to make your own jewellery at the studio of Micheline Lecerf.
- The jewellery is fired using RAKU, an ancient firing technique used in Japan from the 16th century for glazing teacups. Successive temperature shocks give the various pieces their crackled look and many glossy colours.
